Tempus is a Chicago success story. The company was founded here, is headquartered here, and houses 2,500 employees.

Today, Tempus has a valuation of over $8B, making them the largest clinical and molecular dataset platform that’s right here in our backyard.

Eric Lefkofsky started Tempus after a family member was diagnosed with breast cancer.
He noticed the lack of data-driven decision-making in their treatment and was determined to change this.
The initial vision was to harness big data and AI to provide personalized treatment plans for cancer patients, aiming to improve patient outcomes through data-driven insights.

Types of Data

At its core, Tempus is a technology company that aggregates and analyzes clinical and molecular data. The Tempus platform integrates various types of data, including:
