✍🏽 Landon’s Loop #168
It's here. Chicago Tech Week starts today.
We've hosting 4 events this week.
Here's your sneak peek, plus the other events I'll be dropping into.

👩💻 Over the Weekend: Ground Up Hackathon

Tech Week kicked off early.
This past Saturday we partnered with Lumina House, a global residency for women working across technology, research, and engineering, to host the Ground Up Hackathon.
A full day of engineers shipping real products from scratch.
Thank you to our partners Stripe for helping power the day.
💸 Banks, Exchanges, and Founders joining Chicago Builds: Future of Money

Wednesday is the big one.
Chicago Builds: Future of Money runs 1pm to 6pm, with 400 attendees including founders, operators, investors, and the institutions moving the rails.
The idea for this summit started months ago after noticing the same pattern over and over: Chicago wasn't just producing great fintech companies. It was quietly becoming one of the places building the infrastructure behind the future of money. We wanted to bring everyone shaping that future into one room.
Tom Sosnoff will open up the afternoon, followed by panels on stablecoins, digital asset regulation, and the bank-crypto bridge with leaders from zerohash, Architect, Coinflow, Burling Bank, and more.
Paul Hastings, along with nine other firms that believe in the future of financial infrastructure, partnered with us to make this day possible.
For admitted attendees: your private event hub is live at summit.landonsloop.com/login. It has the full schedule, the attendee directory sorted by room, and everything else you need for the day.
Check your email for access. The hub is not public, so if you are in, you need to use the password from Luma about the event.

🍽️ Seed to Series B Table: VIP Founder Dinner

Thursday night is invite only.
We’re partnering with Rho, Latham, and Superior Studios to host the Seed to Series B Table, where we’ll bring together a hand-picked room of Chicago founders for dinner and a direct conversation about what it actually takes to get from first check to growth round.
No panels, no pitches, just founders comparing notes at the table.
🤠 Rooftop Closeout: The Fastest Draw in the 312

We close Tech Week the right way: Friday evening, on a rooftop, with the whole ecosystem in one place.
Startups will show off their latest, investors will walk the floor, and everyone who survived the week gets a Chicago summer night to celebrate it.
The biggest and most open event of our four.
Presented in partnership with Latham & Watkins, Eidra, and Superior Studios.
Come through.

You already have a take on which AI lab ships next.
Claude or Gemini? OpenAI or Anthropic? GPT-7 before year-end or not? If you read tech newsletters, you've already formed opinions on all of it.
Kalshi has real-money markets on which AI model leads benchmarks this week, which lab ships AGI first, when Anthropic releases Mythos, whether OpenAI raises ChatGPT pricing, and which company has the best coding model at year-end. These aren't abstract questions — they're live markets with real money on both sides, moving as labs ship, benchmarks drop, and announcements land.
The edge belongs to whoever actually follows this space. Not the casual observer — the person who reads model cards, tracks evals, and notices when a new release outperforms the field before the mainstream press catches up.
That person has a genuine edge. If that's you, Kalshi lets you act on it.
